1. Minimize Light And Sound – These two factors have an impact on the quantity and quality of sleep you get every night. When it gets dark, your body produces melatonin to guarantee a calming effect allowing you to fall asleep. Any light from the outside or devices like your TV, computer or smartphone will make it harder for you to fall asleep. Place these devices away from your sleeping area and make it darker by using an eye mask or blackout drapes. Noise will also make it harder to sleep. You should use a fan or noise machine to remove any unwanted noises.

2. Get Comfortable – As an adult, you will spend a third of your life asleep. Therefore, you need to invest in the most comfortable and relaxing bedding. Take a look at the 2021 Floyd Bed. Before getting into bed, you should lower your thermostat a few degrees to make your room cooler. When resting, your core temperature rests. By reducing the temperature in your room, you should aid with the natural drop in your body temperature.

It will also condition your brain to go to sleep. You should try out activities that allow proper relaxation such as journaling, stretching, mediation or reading.

4. Manage Stress – How you manage stress will play a huge role in your ability to fall asleep and stay that way. Stress might not be bad but if it becomes anxiety or worry, it will disrupt your sleep. If your mind keeps you up at night, you should try some stress management techniques before getting into bed. Try out aromatherapy, journaling, deep breathing or meditation for the best results.

5. Get Out Of Bed – If you are having a hard time falling asleep, you should get out of bed and do something relaxing before trying to fall asleep again. You can read a book, meditate or listen to music or anything relaxing.
