PC gaming is more affordable than it has ever been, and for many people, it provides the best value for lots of different reasons. While there are some great and very powerful consoles out there for gaming, there are plenty of reasons why it’s worth playing more PC games than console games right now.
Price
The cost might be one of the biggest considerations that you will have when it comes to how you are going to game. Of course, PC gaming might be more expensive upfront, although if you’re going for one of the top-end consoles like the PS5 or Xbox One X, it might not make much of a difference. You can easily get a Lenovo gaming PC setup at a reasonable price that won’t set you back much more in comparison with a console. However, once you’ve got your setup ready, PC gaming is often much cheaper over time. Compared to the cost of console games, PC games are far cheaper, meaning you can enjoy your favourite titles for less.
Easier to Upgrade
Compared to console gaming, PCs are typically much easier to upgrade. When you have a PlayStation or an Xbox, you can’t really open them up and start upgrading all the different components. If you want a better experience, then you’ll probably have to buy an entirely new console. On the other hand, it’s easier to upgrade a gaming PC. You can replace the graphics card, RAM, motherboard, or even the processor without having to replace your entire PC.
More Games Available
With fewer and fewer console exclusive games being released these days, it’s no surprise that more gamers are turning to PC gaming. Most of the games that are released by Microsoft might not be available on both of the most popular console types but generally tend to be released for PC regardless. Some games are still console exclusive, but there is a sign that all of this is going to change, with Sony recently releasing PlayStation Now, for example, which is a subscription-based game streaming service for the PC.
Control Flexibility
Another good reason to consider playing more games on PC rather than console is that you have more flexibility when it comes to the controls that you use. While traditional PC gaming involves using a keyboard and mouse to control your character or other components of the game, it’s not the only option that is available to you. With a gaming PC, you can get plenty of different gaming control accessories that you can use for different types of games. You can attach a console-like controller to your PC or even use joysticks and steering wheels if you like playing racing games.
If you’re considering a new gaming setup or want to make some upgrades to your current one, there are lots of great reasons to consider getting a gaming PC and playing more PC games. While the initial cost might not be much different to console gaming, PC games are often cheaper and available with more options compared to console games.
